My 1st Blog Entry

This morning, while doing my usual blog reviewing and finding some interesting sites and info on the web, it dawned on my that I should share these bits of insight with others. Thus, the beginnings of "Rick's Web Wanderings".

Here you will be able to find information on new technology, great deals, helpful web sites, and just plain ol' interesting information from the web.

So check back often, and see if the information is something you can use!

Today's entrys include a great mapping tool web site, information from the world of education, and the Tech Deal of the Day.

Interesting Web Sites:

Map Sites:

Mapjack.com - This site combines the utiliy of a web map (and satelite imagery) with street level images (360 degrees). Currently, the site only includes San Francisco, but if you are planning a trip to the Bay Area, this is perfect.

Maps.Live.com by Microsoft has, in addition to the aerial imagery, 3D rendering of the larger cities. By downloading an add-on tool (Virtual Earth 3D), this site allows you to "tilt" the aerial view to almost horizontal, and see buildings, terrain, and the road info

Google Maps - Google Maps has similar capabilities, and now has street leve images of most major cities. By clicking on "Street View", and then clicking on a location within the city, you can see 360 degree images of the street location (great for seeing store fronts, parks, etc.)
